WHAT’S AN ASPIE?

“Aspie” is the nickname people with Asperger’s or Autism often refer to themselves and their community.  In recent years, certain individuals have come to reject the name because of the condition’s founder, Hans Asperger, being caught up in controversy.  There is no right or wrong answer here, but this is what the term is short for.
